Our team at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai invites you to join our Asthma Mobile Health study. Powered by Apple’s ResearchKit, you can easily participate in medical research studies like this, and help contribute to improving healthcare. This app is a personalized tool that helps you to gain greater insight into your asthma, adhere to treatment plans, avoid triggers, and take charge of your health.

The app provides personalized reminders to take your prescribed medications, helps you track your condition 24x7, allows you to review trends, and gives you feedback on your progress. We aim to help patients experience less asthma-related distress with better symptoms control, improved quality of life, and fewer unexpected medical visits.

Record and track your:
• Daytime and nighttime asthma symptoms and how they affect your daily activities
• Daily usage of controller and rescue inhalers
• Triggers such as colds, increased physical activity, strong smells, exhaust fumes, house dust, and animals
• Peak flow
• Emergency department visits, medical visits, and changes in medication
• Steps and Heart Rate graphs through the Apple Health App

Receive reminders and notifications about:
• Your medications
• Local air quality

Get educated:
• Learn proper inhaler technique
• Watch physician-approved videos for tips on effective asthma management

To join this research study on Asthma, you need to:
• Be 18 or older
• Have asthma confirmed by a doctor
• Resident of the United States, United Kingdom or Ireland

• This app will read and/or write data from Apples Health App, with your permission.
• Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
